Wang Xiyu is a sculptor based in Tokyo, specializes in large-scale wood and metal sculptures.She graduated from Musashino Art University with dual MA degrees in Sculpture and Metalwork. Her work focuses on the dialogue between traditional religious art and contemporary art, Discovering the profound relationship between shape and meaning by blending various materials and techniques.
She has participated in several notable exhibitions, including the 2021-2023,Musashino Art University Graduation and Completion Exhibition (Musashino Art University, Tokyo) and the 45th Tokyo Five Art Universities Joint Graduation Exhibition (The National Art Center, Tokyo). In 2021, her works were showcased at group exhibitions such as HIGURE 17-15cas (Tokyo) and ZOUKEI Gallery (Tokyo).
In addition, she collaborated with Shichishogu- Shrine in Kumamoto City to create two Nio guardian statues, which are now permanently installed at the temple.
