IWATA Aya

Lecturer

Aya Iwata grew up in a creative environment that encouraged her to produce things. Among the materials she encountered, she felt that metal is the most suitable material for her. She is devoted to Shippo (cloisonne enamel) technique that gives vivid colors and transparency to metal. Iwata’s works are inspired from natural objects and phenomenon as well as her religious view, and visions of imaginary scenery are woven into her works. She hopes to bring a smile on a viewer’s face by her work.
