Ito’s main research theme is product design utilizing sustainable materials such as bamboo and rattan. He has organized extensive fieldwork and workshops specializing in these materials in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Ghana. Ito is dedicated to sharing with students his expertise and diverse perspectives on “life and form”. His spatial design is focused around the theme of “Composition and atmosphere created by materials”.
